Experiences in wilderness

The surrounding nature offers a variety of opportunities for the forest’s multi-purpose use. The cabin is surrounded by state-owned wide forest and water areas, and the state’s licenced hunting grounds and fishing areas start at walking distance. Two kennels ensure a pleasant experience for your dogs, too. If you feel like fishing, there’s a rowing-boat at your disposal. The Finnish everyman’s right entitles you to pick all the mushrooms and berries in the forest you want.

The Hauta Perhossa ‑monument, ancient tar-burning sites and the remains of an old hide-away cabin can be found at suitable hiking distances. The area’s numerous forest roads, vacant from cars and people, offer excellent biking possibilities. By canoe, you can paddle along the waterway as far as the Peuranpolku hiking trail and Salamajärvi National Park.

There’s also an orienteering area nearby for you to test and improve your orienteering skills, if you like. Let’s not forget the goathi and the sauna by the lake. How would you like making some fresh coffee in the soot-blackened pot over the flames in the goahti on the beach, while waiting for the sauna to heat? If you come by  camper van or pulling a caravan, you can park them on the beach, if you like.
